Camp Meal Theme: Utensil Dinner

This camp meal theme takes eating to a whole new level. Why bother with regular utensils? You are at camp, after all. Nothing is normal here!

Purpose

This camp meal theme makes eating way more fun. Turn a regular camp meal into something wild. Break routine! Instead of regular utensils – forks, spoons, and knives – make the counselors and camp staff eat dinner with out-of-the-ordinary utensils. Use anything you can find in the camp kitchen – soup ladles, spatulas, colanders, pots, pans, measuring cups, pitchforks, cheese grater, etc. Nothing is too wild!

Supplies Needed

For this camp meal theme, you will want to find any and all utensils in the camp kitchen. Here is a list to start with. You’ll also want duck tape/packing tape to keep the utensils attached to the staff member’s hands.

  • Measuring cups
  • Spatula
  • Soup ladle
  • Cheese grater
  • Pitchfork
  • Whisk
  • Strainer
  • Rolling pin
  • Meat hammer

  • Duck or Masking tape (to keep utensil on hand)

Step 2 – Each camp staff member and camp counselor should pick at least one kitchen utensil to use in lieu of regular utensils (spoons, knives, and forks).

Step 3 – Use masking or duck tape to securely attach the utensil to the counselor/staff’s hand(s).

Step 4 – Camp counselors and staff members awkwardly try to eat with their new utensils!
